CLEAN UP agent is a blend of selected anionic and nonionic surfactants with a variety of uses—from general rig and engine cleanup to specialized cuttings wash solutions for nonaqueous drilling fluid. This heavy-duty, low-sudsing detergent and degreaser makes tough cleanup jobs easier.

Applications

CLEANUP agent is effective in both freshwater and seawater and works to emulsify oil-in-water. It is also helpful in the treatment of minor oil spills. All oil spills should be treated in a manner that complies with applicable environmental regulations. 

• For use as a rig and equipment wash when using oil-based muds, apply full-strength or slightly diluted. 

• For use as a general rig and engine degreaser, regardless of mud type, apply full-strength or dilute with water as needed.

• As a cuttings wash solution when using oil-based muds, the recommended concentration is a 2% to 3% solution.

• As a cleaning solution for all wood, plastic and metal surfaces, dilute CLEAN UP agent with water as required.

Drilling fluid applications for lime include increasing pH, providing excess lime as an alkalinity buffer, flocculating bentonite muds, removing soluble carbonate (CO32–) ions, controlling corrosion, and activating fatty-acid, oil-based mud additives.
